Clarifying our purpose

Hi Friend!

Man, I apologize for the delay in the newsletter encouragement! There has been a lot going on the past couple of weeks in my life; I am sure you can relate.

With all that has been going on, I realized how important it is to be really clear in my mind what my Identity is- and what my top priorities are.

Identity is defined as the "fact of being who or what a person is."

Living in a state of knowing our Identity produces confidence and clarityIt transforms us from a ship without a rudder to a powerboat in moments!

Well- I know that it doesn't always come SO quickly in our day-to-day, but I have found that nearly all the women I work with (including myself) have an identity claim to make.

That is to clearly define what their Identity is- and walk in it.

When I am not operating out of my God-given Identity, I feel overwhelmed.

I feel tired, scattered, and hope can feel far.

When living in forgotten Identity, our days still happen, work, life, fun, sickness, heartache, intercession, joy, adventure, etc. THE WHOLE Bit- but I have found that things are much more tiring for us when operating out of a place of forgotten Identity.

PAUSE to maintain focus:

To realign with the truth of our Identity.

For me, I know it is clear: I was made by God.

I am his beloved kid. And Jesus shared in the bible my two most extraordinary callings:

To love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and love people like myself.

Knowing (like really knowing and owning) God made me so he could have a relationship with me humbles me to my core, all the while filling me with thanksgiving and JOY that leads me to desire to do life with him.

am God's beloved kid, and so are you.

When I walk in this Identity: God's beloved, who does life with Him and loves others, everything else I find intrigue to pursue becomes extra- and so good- but doesn't have to collect as much pressure or performance. (Because I shift my gaze on living into my foundational Identity as simply: God's kid.)

For me, the thing that brings the greatest clarity and peace is God. Nothing else clarifies the void I feel.

This is what helps me hone in on my Identity!

And now, now for a fun exercise in prioritizing for more JOY, ENERGY, CLARITY:

After I OWN who I am and how Jesus showed me how to live, I like to do something called my TOP 5 ( my sister-in-law shared this with me months ago), and I know we have all done exercises like this; before, but it is so helpful!

HONE IN ON YOUR TOP 5:

-Pull out your notes section on your phone, and write out your TOP 5 priorities in LIFE right now.

What are they?

Family? Joy? Peace? God, athletics, etc….

Identifying the top 5 helps us in our days make decisions that sow into our top 5.

WHICH ultimately brings us clarity, joy, and confidence.

-Now, write out the WHY behind the WHY of each one of your top 5's.

Example: if it's Family, write Family because ____ and then answer the "well Why? Question after you answer the because :) To help boil your TOP 5 motivators down.

Alrighty :) I hope this brought you solace, encouragement, and practical steps to clarify your Identity and calling!

JOURNAL PROMPT: Share one of your TOP 5’s with us below in the comments and then your WHY’s for it!

Much LOVE friend!
