How to live well
Hi Friend!
SO many topics cross our path every single day.
Work, the world, crisis, family, joy, challenge, social media, news, newsletters, emails, texts, calls…etc.
I can get so caught up in it. Many times I realize I was EVERYWHERE else (mentally) than present with the people right around me. And I know this is true, and honestly being EVERYWHERE else swamps me. I can feel pressed on every side wanting to make a difference in it all. Do you experience this?
I am learning to take breaks to hone in on God and thankfulness so that: I can live with presence and I can make a difference in the world.
We weren't made to take in every single bit of information (data, new diet, social construct, advice, heartache). God made us to walk in a garden with people, animals and steward it all with God.
Maybe now as you read this the thought is crossing your mind:
“Yes Sarah, I know that life doesn’t look like the original intent…What I need to know is HOW to act NOW in the WORLD we are in and a part of.”
I believe this is why Jesus came. He came to show us how to hone in, and live life in abundance and in fullness. <3
Honing in means also saying "no" to: fear, anger, flesh pursuits that lead astray.
Hone in to love like Jesus did.
Hone in to receive HIS LOVE.
Going to God first with our days and all the things that cross our path.
To stop the scroll start engaging with God about it all SO that we aren’t mentally everywhere BUT here.
And, I know this isn’t easy.
This is why I am writing on the topic. I am learning this over and over. To cling to the only true buoy of peace and life which is God.
To hone in to Live well. <3
Joy, peace, and fun can still happen in a world of heartache. I can't tell you how to walk every situation out, you get to learn how this looks in your life with God. Let him teach you and lead you.
This verse below has helped guide me back to this theme of honing in:
I love this book of the Bible, Philippians. My mom would share with me over and over again growing up: “Think on, “whatever is true, whatever is nobel, whatever is pure whatever is right whatever is lovely… and to take thoughts into captivity”.
I loved hearing this verse, but I didn’t know how to walk this out until my life and marriage depended on it when I was facing disease 5 years ago in my life. <3
Hone in on TRUTH and Gods Love to Live well. We won’t find assurance and peace by scrolling, trolling, or rolling. ;) BUT, we will find peace as we talk to God and give thanks.
Gain refreshment from his mind and heart to LOVE the people we are next to with the of Love that comes from above.
Hone in to live well. <3
Much LOVE,
Sarah
