Top 5 // Summer Favorites

In leu of this weeks newsletter topic of body image and moving towards joy and freedom I want to share some of my top 5 summer JOY inducers…:) Share one of yours with us in the comments below!

1.) As much time outside in the sun as I can get in a day

Without getting too crazy about it- if I can swing it I do and it makes me so happy. I am sure you aren’t too different.

It can take some effort to get out there some days but always so worth it.


2. ) Watermelon Slush

Recipe: From our cousins who I am sure snagged this elsewhere but this is SO simple and delicious :)

Ingredients & Directions

Blend together:

1 Watermelon cut up into cubes- they don’t have to be pretty just blendable. Must: Freeze the cubbed watermelon the night before so it is at an optimal frozen texture.

6 limes squeezed*

1- 3 sprigs of basil*

*these amount depends on you and your love of limes and basil you can add and taste as you go :)

Pour and Enjoy! Get creative too if you want to add lemon, mint, raspberries, etc I am sure all would be tasty :P

4. Connecting with friends and family

Community is a blessing. Being led in our relationships is so important, as a woman who can wrestle to please and do all things… it is important for me to stay led in my relationships by God. Obviously loving all as Jesus did with him- but in how I spend my time, as a coach, a wife, a friend, a daughter I want to be led rather than spent. Anyways maybe someone needed to hear that <3.


5. Fresh Cooking

The joy I have when tasty dishes come alive in the kitchen with whole food ingredients is so real! haha I am not a pro by any means but it is something I enjoy!! :) If you have a favorite food blog or recipe please share it below in the comments! :))!
